July/August Cover Photo: Fossiliferous limestone from the Ordovician Georgian Bay Formation, Manitoulin Island, Ontario. The fossil fragments, as seen here in a cross-polars thin section view approx. 2 cm across, are crinoids, echinoderms, bryozoa and ostracods recrystallized to calcite and then partially replaced by an equigranular, ankeritic dolomite. Fine-grained dolomite that makes up much of the matrix is intercalated with very fine, dark brown clays. Photo By: Jim Renaud
