Gussow Geoscience Conference
2008 Gussow-Nuna Geoscience Conference
The history of Earth's climate is one of continual change. Many natural processes contribute to this change, including long-term forcing related to the movement and elevation of the Earth's continental plates, changes in the amount and distribution of solar radiation received by the Earth driven by regular changes in the earth's orbit and by changes in the sun's activity, and climatic modulations driven by periodic and episodic oscillations in the pattern of oceanic and atmospheric currents... more info.
What is a Gussow Geoscience Conference?
The Gussow Geoscience Conference is a meeting focusing on new and emerging issues related to the petroleum industry. The meeting is intended to bring together recognized experts from diverse disciplines to provide a broad range of perspectives on the conference theme. This fall meeting, held outside of Calgary, is more focused and in depth than the Annual Convention and is designed to enhance social interaction and networking.
The CSPG dedicates and names it's Geoscience Conference series after William Carruthers Gussow (1908 – 2005).
