Student Conferences
The CSPG has ramped-up it's presence at the three main student geological conferences across Canada significantly over the past four years. The CSPG University Outreach Committee has done this by: sponsoring the John B. Webb Trophies and the CSPG Trophy, both awarded annually at the Western Inter-University Geosciences Conference and the Atlantic Universities Geological Conference, respectively. We also award the best poster at the Advances in Earth Science Research Conference, sponsored by students at Ottawa-Carleton Universities.
The CSPG is an important contributor to all of these conferences, with CSPG members giving presentations, judging presentations and subsequently awarding the trophies at the banquet. We also aim to include a CSPG booth so that the students can interact one-on-one with a CSPG representative.
